Welcome to Sequoia Tree Trail!
Embark on
an unforgettable journey through the majestic giant sequoias: the
largest trees on Earth! These incredible giants can live for over
3,000 years, reach heights of more than 300 feet, and widths of over
20 feet — a true natural wonder! Explore the winding trail that
leads to the visitor center, where you can learn about these
remarkable trees and the diverse wildlife that inhabits their forests.
Walk through the trunk of a fallen giant sequoia or delve into history
by examining the rings of an ancient stump slice. Keep your eyes open
for wildlife, including the Steller’s jay and the banana slug. You may
even discover a clue to the whereabouts of a legendary creature along
the way!
The Model
Inspired
by my adventures among these magnificent trees, this model aims to
capture the intricate beauty of the sequoia trees, trails, and
ecosystem. It features two towering giant sequoias alongside a few
younger sequoias, a visitor center, and some interactive elements
nestled within the lush grove. Many other trees that are native to
the sequoia ecosystem decorate this trail as well, including several
fir trees and a large ponderosa pine. Wildlife enthusiasts will
enjoy spotting the various creatures, such as Steller’s jays, banana
slugs, squirrels, and many more little birds and critters.
